Bowling with the Bollenbachers

We had a good time bowling with Ryanne, Steve, Kendall & Luke on Saturday! We did one lane with bumpers for the kids, and the other lane for the adults (minus the bumpers). I think Steve, Ryanne & myself would agree that this isn't "our sport"! Bill, on the other hand, is pretty good...as you can see from the great form he had below: (pay no attention to the obscene gestures behind his back! haha!)Nick

Rock on (or I love you...which ever!)
I think Kendall was playing air guitar here!!

After bowling, we headed over the Mexican restaurant for supper! YUM!

Happy Birthday Tricia!!

We had a girls night at the Mexican restaurant for Tricia's birthday the other night. Here's Tricia with her sombrero and ice cream! Yum! Thanks for sharing!! Tricia had to make a call to John while we were eating (on Gwenyth's phone)
Lindsay and Tricia. I'm not sure why we don't have a picture from the other side of the table...Ryanne and I were there too!
I hope you had a great birthday Tricia! You're now an old lady like me! :)

Castaway Bay

I can't think of a better weekend than last weekend to have taken the kids to an indoor waterpark! (What a great place to be "snowed in"). This year we went to Castaway Bay in Sandusky with the Figleys, and we liked it better than The Great Wolf Lodge. Below is the tree house area where the big bucket of water dumps every 5 minutes or so.
The Green Slide. Nick and Avery loved it!

Trying out the wave pool...They started out playing in the shallow waves, and by the next day we were carrying the boys out "deep" to where the big waves were!

They had so many activities for the kids throughout the day (outside of the waterpark). We took advantage of some of them. Below Trey is working on coloring a Castaway Bay T-Shirt.

Cookie decorating! I guess the frosting was good!!

They had a huge gameroom that would closely rival Chuck E Cheese! They even had the prize area where you could redeem your tickets. Nick is playing a little SkeeBall here...

Trey riding the train with Snoopy.
Saturday night, the kids had hot chocolate with Snoopy in their PJ's. Trey didn't make it for this - it was at 10pm, and he fell asleep around 8:30. But Avery, Adelyn & Nick all were still up.

We had a great weekend! Hopefully we can go back some day!

Mad River Mountain

What a busy weekend for The Evans Family!! Friday night, I took the boys to the YMCA for Family Swim (which they loved!), and Saturday night Bill made plans for us to go to Mad River Mountain in Bellefontaine. Sledding at the reservoir is fun, but nothing like this!!

This first picture is all 10 of the tubing lanes, from the bottom:

Nick waiting in his tube to go down!

Trey pretending to "surf" up the lift

Bill & Trey getting ready to go down the hill! I was too nervous to let the boys go on their own, but they only allow 1 person per tube. We strapped the tubes together 2 at a time so that the kids wouldn't be completely by themselves...I'm so glad we did this, because the very last time we went down Trey flew out of his tube about halfway down. I just had to watch from the top (yikes!!) while Bill climbed back up to get him....Thankfully he wasn't hurt, he was mad that he flew out on the last trip down!!

The boys were best friends the whole time we were there! I'm not sure why, but they held hands almost every time we went up the lift!

I think we'll probably go back someday!

Happy Birthday Nick!

Nick was given the choice to have his birthday party at McDonald's, Pizza Hut, or Chuck E Cheese...and he picked Grandma Cathy's house! So that's where it was! He looked through the book and picked out the cake he wanted (Thomas the Train) and even picked most of the food on the "menu" for dinner.

The first present he opened was a puzzle, and he yelled "Awesome, I always wanted this!!" It was too funny!

The rest of the pictures Nick took with my camera.....There were plenty more, but these were the ones with people in them.

Happy Birthday Nick!! I can't believe my "baby" is 4!!!

Ryanne's Mexican Birthday Party!

We got together to celebrate Ryanne's birthday at Mi Ranchito last Friday night! I had a lot of fun, and I hope Ryanne and everyone else did too! I LOVE girls nights out!I think Ryanne is the only person I know who looks forward to having the employees sing Happy Birthday (or whatever they say in Spanish)!! I guess sitting through it isn't so bad when you get free fried ice cream!!!

Hope you had a great day Ryanne!

Sledding at the Resevoir!!!

The boys have been begging to go sledding for months, and we finally took them! We met up with the Bollenbachers on Saturday and had so much fun! So much so, that we went back on Sunday afternoon for more. This has reinforced the fact that we have two little daredevils!

"Deep in Thought" is the title for the next picture....

I'm guessing we'll be going again soon!
