Pies

I know I'm a dork for putting this on my blog (and I'm sure Bill will remind me of that!) but I made my first fruit pies. My Grandma is renowned for pie making skills, so I've always shyed away from it. I decided to finally give it a try. Now what they taste like might be a whole different story, but I think I can compete in the looks category! (...if I do say so myself!) Stop by our house and have a piece!

Peach

Apple

Locust Shells

Bill has taught the boys all about locusts and their shells. They like to hunt for them on the trees. Last night we made our rounds all over the yard looking for shells (and collecting them) and found one that was just coming out. They thought this was awesome!

Cookout

We had all of the Grandparents over for a cookout Sunday night. We had fun visiting and eating good food!

The boys played outside all day long! As soon as everyone left they got a bath and crashed!

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Cathy (He's a little too excited to have his picture taken!!)

Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Bill had to get their picture taken before they went home

Grandma Betty taking some leftovers

Grandpa Jim pushed the boys on the swings FOREVER!! I think they could do this all day!

My Olympic Athlete

Last week we watched a lot of the Olympic diving at night. Little did I know that Trey was memorizing every move they made!! I took them swimming on Saturday and he stepped on the diving board, placed his toes on the end, and put his arms in the air! I just about died laughing when I made the connection to what he was doing!! You'll also see him trying to do the handstand dive!

For whatever reason, Nick was great in the pool this time. He didn't worry about crocodiles, sharks, or an octopus and had a good time swimming!

Great form!!

And now he will take the handstand position for his "dive".........

Hello, Newman...

On Monday night we brought home a new addition to our family! His name is Newman and he's pretty cute (see below). The boys love him, and are a lot more gentle with him than I expected. They were pretty rough with Kobe when he was a little puppy.

We bought Newman from the same breeders we bought Kobe, and ironically Newman also has the same dad. He's very laid back and sweet.

I can't even begin to describe how much better Newman is with house training!! He has not pooped in the house at all, and he has only started to pee a couple times, which was my fault for not taking him out in time...

Mercer County Fair

We took a trip over to the Mercer county fair last Sunday. The boys like the games and rides, but really love to look at all the animals! We all had a good time.

They don't care about fair food, they wanted POPSICLES!!

Nick liked the ponies, but wanted to have Daddy close.

Trey was a natural!

The spinning strawberries...I was dizzy after we were done! I think I'm getting old!

Day Off

Last thursday my babysitter took the day off, and my "back-up" babysitter wasn't able to watch the boys...I started out being very frustrated that I had to take the day off, but it turned out to be a fun day with just me, Trey and Nick. Bill's Open House for Kalida Truck was that day, so we went over to have lunch with him. Then we came home and relaxed (the boys..mommy was cleaning!!) Next stop was to Karen's to go swimming. Nick still isn't over the shark/crocodile (and now octopus) thing with the water, but we still had a good time. Last stop was for supper at the Rootbeer Stand. They love to be able to eat in the car, and hang out up front with me!! We took a "self portrait" after we were done eating.

I suppose this is a lesson learned for myself, and next time I will look forward to a day off!

Not bad for just holding my arm out and pushing the button!

Happy Birthday Daddy & Uncle Steve!!

Steve's birthday was last Saturday and Bill's was Sunday so we had a get-together for them on Sunday evening. There was some dining and hot-tubbing going on (very high class!)

I'll save this picture for when he's leaving for Prom...

Nick knows how to enjoy the "good life"

Daddy's cake was butter brickle...his favorite!

Uncle Steve's birthday cake was white with white frosting. (Yum!)

Cousins

Jay, Dawn & Gavin were visiting for the weekend. All the boys played with bubble machines for hours; I think they had a really great time!

Good old well water!

Trey's Shiner

Trey fell on the steps of the new McDonald's playland. He didn't have to have stitches, but it sure looks ugly!
