Which came first...the chicken or the egg?

At the Evans household, it was the chicken! Here's an update on those cute baby chicks the "Easter Bunny" brought a few months back.... They aren't so cute anymore! However, we are expecting some eggs by September!
Bill's been working pretty hard on their home. If I were a chicken, I think I would be happy!! :)

Preschool Program/Graduation

Last week, we went to the boys' preschool program. All the classes performed a little song, and then they had graduation for those kids moving up to Kindergarten next year. This was Nick's first year, so he just performed...but Trey graduated!

Here is Nick with his teachers Mrs. Wettig and Mrs. HeatherNick just loved his teachers this year, and judging by the bunny-ear picture below, I can see why!!
This is Trey with his buddies from class. He talked about these guys all year long! (Tanner, Bryant, Nicholas, Trey)
Trey with Mrs. Ronda, his teacher
Trey with Mrs. Tammy, another one of his teachers
Trey & Luke both had the same teachers, but on different days of the week.
Luke, Trey & Nick after the program...It was getting a little crazy by this point!

Beautiful Flowers....

Occasionally, Nick gets ahold of my camera and takes all kinds of pictures. Most of the time, I never knew he did and I find out when I view the pictures in the camera. This was one of those times, BUT these pretty flower pictures were in there (along with an assortment of others that I couldn't make sense out of). I asked him why he took the flower pictures, and he said "Because they are beautiful flowers, Mommy!" :)

Early Summer!

Has it been nice these last few weeks or what?! We've taken full advantage of it, and spent a LOT of time outdoors.

We have 3 baby kittiens that Nick has been "mothering." It's working! They are so sweet, and follow us around the yard.

Newman loves the fact that we've been outside a lot too! He's turned into such a great dog!
Over the course of this school year, Trey has mastered swinging on his own...Nick is still learning, and gets so frustrated when Bill & I aren't available to push.
Regardless, these swings have had a good workout already this summer!

"MOM! There's an airplane coming REALLY close to our house!!!"

Trey came running in the house with HUGE eyes, after seeing this airplane! It turned out to be a small plane that was spraying the field behind our house. Very entertaining for two little boys!

A Sure Sign of Summer!

I have to apologize for not posting much this month....We have been busy with swim lessons, soccer, tball, chickens (more on this to come), yardwork -- Not to mention the AWESOME weather we've been having that makes it so very hard to stay indoors!

I don't have too many pictures to share, as I still haven't mastered getting pictures from my phone to the computer! (and I always forget the camera!!!)

I did get this picture of the boys eating popsicles on the back steps, which tells me summer is right around the corner!!

Family Time

Bill's sister Lori, who lives in Colorado, was here for a visit a couple weeks ago. This was the first time the boys had met her, and the second time I had! So it was an exciting, but long overdue visit! :) We had fun spending time with them for a few days.

Here is a picture of Bill and his two sisters Lori (left) and Debbie (right):
The boys fell in love with the computer games they brought with them. Here Lori is helping Trey play a game:

Easter Festivities

Easter Sunday was such a busy day for us! The boys woke up to baskets, and hidden eggs...so egg hunt #1 was in our backyard.

I'm guessing we were quite a sight to anyone who drove by. We all had our jammies on with coats, and the boys wore their snow boots!

The Easter Bunny also left another surprise! Baby chicks!

Next up was actually hunt #2 at Grandpma Cathy & Grandpa Jim's house, but that all happened so fast that I didn't remember to take any pictures!

Lunch was at Grandma Betty's house with the Uncaphers. (Egg hunt #3)
Exciting news for my cousin Tessa!! She's engaged!
Last stop was at Grandma Nancy & Grandpa Bill's house for the Evans family Easter. The Easter Bunny didn't hide any eggs here, but he did leave some treats - like these crazy bubbles that Bill blew all evening!

Happy Birthday Grandma Cathy!

"Salvatori's" This is the restaurant we met at for Grandma Cathy's birthday. It's Excellent!!

We took a cake and candles to celebrate with after our meal...and the boys always have to get in on the action!

Steve loathes it when we take cakes and sing "happy birthday" in a restaurant. So as soon as I got the cake out, he started getting this embarrassed/annoyed look!! It won't be too much longer before you're a dork like we are, Steve! :)

The boys licked all the frosting off the candles! Nick actually started by licking the candles, then putting them back in the cake!! I think that explains the look on my mom's face here:
Steve & Courtney
Grandpa Jim & Trey goofing around!

Nick couldn't be left out...
Happy (now-belated) Birthday Mom! We had a great time, and I hope you did too!

Egg Hunts [REVISED]

The boys participated in two egg hunts on Saturday!! I went with them to the first one at Smiley Park - It was crazy!! There were sooooo many kids there! They divided them up by ages, and had the eggs spread out over the ball diamonds. Of course, the boys were in two different age categories...so I went with Nick, and Bill took Trey. It all happened so fast, but I did get a couple pictures.

Check out all the kids in the background of this first picture!! And this was just part of them from one diamond! We met back up to open eggs, and check-out the loot
Bill & the boys then went on to have lunch with the Easter Bunny in Convoy (and another egg hunt). I went home to start cooking for our Easter dinners the next day. Bill took some pictures (really cute ones!) with his phone, but I just cannot figure out how to get them on here. :(

For some reason today, I made this work!! (still didn't figure out the size thing though...) So here are a couple pics from the Convoy thing:

The boys had bunny whiskers painted on their faces. I thought they looked so cute!

And a picture with the Easter Bunny!

Eggs!

What a busy day today!! Lots of Easter things going on!

We kicked it off by coloring our eggs....

More on the rest of our day to come... I hope everyone has a Happy Easter tomorrow!!
